Police are probing fresh allegations that Leigh Griffiths sent ‘inappropriate messages’ to a second girl this time 15-year-old.
The striker was sent home from the pre-season training camp earlier this week, as the club launched an investigation to an underaged girl.
Police Scotland, at the time, said it had been made aware of the messages and was ‘making inquiries and assessing for criminality’.
On Saturday 10 July, the force has said they have been altered to more content shared linked to another underage girl.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of the social media content and the matter is currently being assessed.”
Following the initial allegation, a Celtic spokesperson said: “We have been made aware of online comments concerning Leigh Griffiths. The club will now look into this matter carefully.
“Leigh has left the training camp as we do this.
“It would not be appropriate to make any further comment at this time.”
