Celtic has announced that Vakoun Bayo has left the club to join Belgian side Gent on a permanent basis.
The 24-year-old forward spent last season on-loan with Toulouse in the French second-tier. Bayo has signed a four-year deal with his new club.
The Ivorian striker scored 10 goals in 30 games for Toulouse, and has been called up to the Ivory Coast squad to play in the Olympics at the end of this month – which he has turned down to secure his exit from Celtic.
“Vakoun is a fast and agile striker who is very strong offensively. He is a player who will offer our coach many opportunities up front.” said, Tim Matthys
