Italian giants, AC Milan, have made it clear they are admirers of Ajer – and now Lennon has said there have had discussions to offer support amidst the rumours.
The defender, has been widely rumoured to have left Parkhead, but no bids have come in for him yet.
Speaking before Celtic’s European match against Riga tomorrow, Lenny said: “He’s very focused.
“He will start tomorrow, he’s looking forward to the game.
“You can’t control speculation. Like I’ve said, as always, there’s been no concrete offers, no confirmation of anything and we don’t want to sell him.
“And he’s in a good place mentally.
“I’ve spoken to him on it yesterday and I’m there as a support for him.
“Sometimes it can be a very distracting situation, which he finds himself in.
“So he’s getting all the support he can from myself and the backroom team, as well as his team-mates.”
AC Milan legend and current technical director, Maldini, has spoken about their need for a defender.
Maldini said: “Our biggest need is a central defender.
“Nikola Milenkovic and Ajer could be part of the names being evaluated.
“But they are not the only ones and they are not the ones on whom we are working.
“We have an idea of how to build the team. We also look at the budget and the amount of wages.”
