Gary Mackay-Steven has insisted that Celtic, like Dundee United, are worthy champions when the time comes.

He said: “Obviously I’ve been keeping tabs on it.

“Firstly, I’m delighted for Dundee United, it maybe wouldn’t have been the way they wanted to win it but it was inevitable it was going to happen.

“They had had a great campaign and I am personally delighted to see them next year when the season get s under way playing in the division they should be in.

“They’re a massive club with a big fanbase so it is great to see.

“I know a few of the boys and obviously the manager Robbie Neilson who has done an unbelievable job.

“Obviously in the top division we are still waiting to see and it is hard knowing right and wrong about what to do.

“Obviously in an ideal world you would like to play it to a conclusion to know every club’s true position.

“But going back to Celtic they will be worthy champions when the time comes as well.”
