Lennon: No VAR cost Celtic match

Neil Lennon, insists a lack of VAR cost Celtic an away win in Rennes.

The Celtic gaffer, was happy with his men’s performance on the night, however he claims that VAR – or lack of – cost his team all three points.

After Christie being denied a stonewall penalty, then after he missed out on the first penalty shout he tucked a penalty away.

Lennon said: “We should’ve had a penalty for the foul on Ryan.

“I was aware of that (no VAR) before the game. We are playing under the UEFA banner.

“So, I’m surprised we don’t have it in this competition.

“If we had it would have been a clearly another penalty.”
