Celtic handed Europa League boost with Leipzig star ruled out of Thursday’s clash.

Rodgers and his men have been handed a massive boost as Emil Forsberg will miss out on the showdown at the Red Bull Arena.

He is excepted to be out for roughly three weeks, and has missed today’s match against Augsburg with a groin injury.

Leipzig Gaffer, Ralph Rangnick, said: “Emil will be missing for a few games and that’s a disappointment.

“It’s not a muscle tear, just a strain, but as a precaution he won’t play against Celtic and Schalke after that.

“Forsberg provided more assists than any other player in the Bundesliga last term and it’s one less problem the Hoops will have to deal with.”
