The League –
So far Celtic sit fourth having won three and drawn three, the opening match of the season Celtic won 3-0 against Hearts in a vintage display as Dembele, Sinclair and even Bitton joined in on the goal scoring action, they then played Thistle at the EnergyCheck Stadium and beat them 1-0 the single goal coming for Roberts, they then made a trip up north to Kilmarnock to salvage a 2-2 draw, this was the first time the defensive capabilties of the squad were called into action, with Brown and Dembele saving Celtic’s bacon. They then drew with St. Johnstone at Celtic Park 1-1, Sinclair again who saved the day, they then took the short trip up the M8 to play Hamilton where again the drew 1-1, Armstrong scoring for the Celts in three minutes and Gillespie scoring at the final minute. The hoops got back to winning ways when Ross County came to town and faced a fearless team, who had to come from behind and win 2-1 thanks to Tierney and Dembele.
League leaders Aberdeen have won every game bar one, where they drew at Murrayfield to Levein’s men, 1-1 with a late goal from Tansey, apart from that they beat Hamilton 2-1 a brace for Adam Rooney, they then went on to beat Ross County up in Dingwall, 3-1 with goals coming from May, Christie and Tansey, the single goal for ross county, came from Draper. They then went on to play Dundee, Thistle and Kilmarnock in all convincing wins.
Hamilton is yet to win a game this season as they have drawn or lost every game, the 2-1 loss to Aberdeen, the 1-1 draw to Dundee, Hibs and Celtic, the 3-2 loss to Kilmarnock and 2-1 loss to hearts, the board have kept the faith with Martin Canning, we are only six games in yet still not won a game, arguably the hardest start they could get.
The top goal scorers so far this season:
Rooney 5 goals in 5 appearances, followed by Matulevicius with four goals in five appearances and finishing off the top three is Louis Moult with three goals in six games, not as got as real life perhaps, but he has scored when they need him too as the ‘Well are in third place.
